I spent too much money, didn't take enough pictures, and ate way too much crap, but otherwise had an amazing weekend at the Small Press Expo. Thanks to everyone for a good time.


Above is from our ridiculously scenic drive from Vermont to Maryland.

After around eleven hours later we arrived at the hotel where JP made sure the beds were solid and quality.



When the doors for the con opened we set up our table and met up with cartoonist friends we haven't seen for awhile.

Joe Kimpel (he's a real guy!), Emily, Sam, and Adam. Pizza Wizard Sam is giving Adam the "when are piggy-backs happening?!" stare.


James, Stephen, and Alexis are busy setting up the One Percent Press table while Alec Longstreth was busy screaming with child-like glee, giving all of us our much needed pep before the show started.


Soon the doors opened and the room was full of people who loved comics.


I spent most of my time working at the One Percent Press table


and the Sundays table. My books were on both tables where I proudly hung out and peddled my wares.


Here I am drawing on one of the Sundays bags after we ran out of printed ones.


Jon, an ex-CCS-intern and SCAD student with his copy of Sundays in his hand drawn bag. He's so happy to finally have a bag. He promptly threw out his comics and took a trip to the grocery store.


Alex and I look like such assholes in this picture.


Jess and Denis were trying to give me a taste of my own obnoxious-camera-in-everyone's-face-medicine. It was bitter.


The CCS table had a great spot right by the entrance where Colleen welcomed people with a pretty smile while Sam ignored them and Mark shivered nervously behind the mini-comic rack in fear that con attendants might notice that he's not wearing pants.


I don't remember who made this for Robyn and Dennis, but it was pretty neat.

The afternoons were full of happy Convention Fun, but the evenings were full of exciting party-time delight.

And finally, here is a medley Alexis and I put together. Being a beardless man I am jealously aware of the abundance of beards on the men I saw at the con this year. Alexis further drove the point home by capturing footage for me. Here are as many beards as we could get in twenty minutes. In the video there are such bearded greats as Alec Longstreth, Joey Weiser, Jamie Tanner, a few of my friends and a bunch of strangers. Music by Deerhoof.
